I grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil where I majored in data processing.
After graduating from the top technological university in Brazil, I immigrated to United States to further growth of my skills and professional capacities. Nine years ago I arrived in Boston with a dream. I’ve learned that the search of self-improvement and a better life can be a long and difficult road, but that there are rewards to pushing and challenging yourself far beyond your comfort zone. I landed in Boston with low levels of English proficiency and high levels of motivation to learn. I quickly acquired English fluency. The owner of the school recognized my skills and work ethic and soon hired me to work with agencies from all over the world to recruit students. Within a short time I was not only promoted to manage a team of 5 employees, but I was also in charge of maintaining the website: designing, coding, including taking lead in the complete redesign of the site. While my work at Approach was useful experience, I still wanted to further develop my design and development skills and continue my experience at a large company. I started my position as a full-time web designer and developer at athenahealth in 2014. At athenahealth, I was responsible for all the website stage: from design to front-end development. I designed, prototyped and developed engaging interfaces that were thoroughly optimized for conversions. At athena, we moved incredibly fast. We brainstormed ideas that we believed were promising, and within a surprisingly short time we moved those ideas to production to see how they performed with users. As a consequence of testing ideas quickly, we learned deeply and quickly about our products and users. In 2017, I started working for Shorelight Education as a web developer. At Shorelight, I supported the execution of international marketing with building microsites, landing pages, web-based applications, salesforce extensions, and integration of third-party tools into Shorelight’s ecosystem. I implemented designs for marketing campaigns in Marketo to persuade students to visit the microsites and talk to a Counselor. I translated business requirements into system capabilities quickly to engage students to apply to the programs.
I’ve been a designer and front-end developer for 8 years and currently live in Boston... and all over the internet.
